New Book Release: How We Destroyed the Elven King’s Three Fiery Rings of Doom

I’m excited to announce the release of my newest middle-grade fantasy comedy adventure ebook, How We Destroyed the Elven King’s Three Fiery Rings of Doom, currently for only 99 cents!

The story begins with three best friends—Ben, Joe, and Dana—checking out Joe’s supposedly magical wardrobe. Instead of dust bunnies, they find something much worse: a portal that pulls them into a completely chaotic fantasy world.

Once there, things go downhill quickly.

They encounter a dragon who quotes The Wizard of Oz, a permanently irritated faum (which is definitely not a faun), and a wizard who insists on eating sweet-and-sour chicken while casting spells. And presiding over the whole mess is a villainous Elven King who possesses three fiery rings capable of destroying everything.

Unfortunately for Ben, Joe, and Dana, the only way home is to destroy those rings first.

This book is written as a fast-paced, humorous fantasy adventure for middle-grade readers who enjoy portal stories and fantasy parodies. If you enjoy classic portal fantasies like The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as modern middle-grade adventures like Fablehaven and The Land of Stories, this story might be right up your alley.

The book also features characters from my earlier story How We Became Intergalactic Superheroes, though it’s designed so new readers can jump in without reading that one first.

If you'd like to learn more or grab a copy, the book is now available on Amazon here:  https://tinyurl.com/2epd8mcs

Thanks for reading—and if you ever encounter a magical wardrobe that burps, you might want to think twice before climbing inside. 🚪🔥

It Waits at the Lodge Passes 1,000 Hours of Watch Time on YouTube

My solo found-footage horror film It Waits at the Lodge recently crossed a milestone: 1,000 hours of watch time on YouTube since its release on December 15, 2025.

For those unfamiliar with the project, It Waits at the Lodge is a 40-minute horror film that I filmed and edited entirely myself. The story follows a man staying alone at a quiet lodge who begins to experience strange disturbances—subtle at first, but gradually escalating into something much more disturbing.

Creating the film was an interesting creative experiment for me. Most people know my work through my books, particularly the Between Dark and Light series, but I’ve always enjoyed exploring storytelling in different formats. Found-footage horror seemed like the perfect format for a small, one-person production.

What’s been especially fun since releasing the film is seeing people discover it and share their reactions in the comments. Some viewers have found it unsettling, some have had questions about what exactly is happening, and others have shared their own interpretations of the story.

Reaching 1,000 hours of watch time means that audiences have collectively spent more than 41 full days watching the film, which is a pretty cool milestone for an independent project.
