Bill Wins The Lottery - Bill & Zed, Episode 1

Check out the first/pilot episode of my new comedy web series, Bill & Zed, in which Bill wins the lottery - only to squander all his prize money and move in with his friend, Zed. This is a project I've been working on for a month and a half or so, and I have 16 episodes all planned/written for what might potentially be the "first season" (we'll see how things go). Each episode is only around 2-4 minutes, though, so it's kind of a bite-size type of thing. Also, I'm the only actor in it haha, but so far there are actually three characters. Below is the logline for the show. Hope you enjoy!

Meeting Me from the Present: a short funny video

I recently posted another video on my YouTube channel. In this one, I meet myself from the present for the first time (link below). It's only a few minutes long and is more of a "silly comedy" versus "horror comedy." Hope you enjoy!

*NEW RELEASE* - Mass Exodus

I'm thrilled to announce my latest book, Mass Exodus, is available now on Amazon for only 99 cents (for a limited time)! It's a young adult science fiction novel featuring one of my favorite things ever...dinosaurs! (There's a reason Jurassic Park is my favorite movie after all! haha). Check Mass Exodus out and/or share if you know of anyone who might enjoy it!

RULES FOR SURVIVAL:

1. ALWAYS STAY WITHIN SETTLEMENT BORDERS.

2. AFTER DUSK, MAKE SURE ALL SHADES ARE DRAWN, AND ONLY LIGHT YOUR ROOMS WITH CANDLELIGHT.

3. IF YOU SENSE AN INTENSE VIBRATION ALONG THE GROUND, IMMEDIATELY TAKE SHELTER IN A SECURE LOCATION UNTIL IT SUBSIDES.

Seventeen-year-old Jayniss has lived by these rules all her life, in the last remaining human settlement on Earth, far in the future. The settlement’s confined to a pocket of wilderness that used to be rural Pennsylvania, since the terrosaur—a species similar to the Tyrannosaurus rex, though much larger, fiercer, and more intelligent—stalks the planet.

But when her father goes missing, Jayniss can’t buy he was careless enough to have become terrosaur grub. Convinced something else transpired, she and her friend, Paum, venture beyond the settlement’s borders in search of him, despite the rules. But what they encounter not only makes them second-guess everything they thought they knew about the settlement, but puts their lives—and what remains of all of mankind—in grave jeopardy.

Available on Amazon now!

Disappeairng & Reappearing: A short horror comedy skit

Introducing “Disappearing and Reappearing," a short horror comedy skit in which I disappear and reappear, somehow and for some reason… This was fun to make, but a bit challenging as a pretty much brand-new video editor (still very much learning!) due to all the mid-scene cuts that had to be made. Only two minutes long! Anyway, check it out if you’re up for something creepy/humorous!

"Burt, Betty, and the Ghost:" a found footage horror/comedy short film

Hi all, I just finished a small project that's very unusual for me - a found footage horror/comedy short film! Haha. I know, I know, I'm usually a writing-books-kind-of-guy, but lately I've been getting into the found footage horror film genre and thought I might try my hand at a short film/video myself, and I have to admit - it was actually pretty fun! (You can check it out here.)

About Found Footage

If you didn't already know, found footage basically implies regular everyday footage you might find on a security camera, laptop camera, regular handheld camera, iPhone, etc. (even though it's technically fiction) - as opposed to fancy Hollywood-style filmmaking with all the ultra-expensive equipment, special effects, video editing, etc. The found footage genre kind of lends a more "realistic" aspect to the horror (though found footage doesn't necessarily have to apply solely to the horror genre), which can be fun, and, well, usually quite low budget haha.

About Burt, Betty, and the Ghost

As for my film, it's called "Burt, Betty, and the Ghost," it was shot entirely from my laptop camera, and it basically stars only me haha. It's only a little over fourteen minutes long and is about an introverted loner experiencing supernatural activity—and maybe more—in his late parents’ home. The thumbnail came out a little fuzzy (see above), but I think that's okay for this particular genre. Anyway, even though the film is somewhat creepy, it's definitely more on the comical side, I'd say. At least, I think so, but check it out and see for yourself! I hope you enjoy!

Mass Exodus - Initial Cover Sketches

Here are the first cover sketches of my upcoming young adult science fiction book, Mass Exodus. They're supposed to depict a scene from one hundred million years in the future with a fictional dinosaur from that era (there's another dinosaur age in the future in the story). Since this is young adult, the main character is seventeen years old. Anyway, I like the first version better, so I'm going with that one. More updates coming soon on both the cover art and the book itself. Stay tuned!
